National Underclassmen Combine

Hello Parents,

There is an opportunity for you to help showcase your son for collegiate coaches. The National Underclassmen Combine will test your son in the 40, Pro Shuttle, Bench Test, Vertical, Broad Jump, Individual skills, and 1 on 1 competition. If you want to find out how your son fares with other high school players across the country, register him and take him to one of these events. It would be great to see what his college potential plus the results are sent to colleges all over the country. The web site is www.nationalunderclassmen.com. Feel free to visit and participate. Call or email me if you have questions about conflicting dates.

Seeking All Former Wildcats

The Neosho Football Program wants to start a Neosho Wildcat Football Alumni Association. If you are a former Wildcat football player from any time, please email Coach Flannigan at flannigans@yahoo.com with your name, year you graduated, home address, phone number, and email address. We would like to build as comprehensive of a list as possible. If you can pass this information along to others that you know donned the Black and Gold, that would be great. Thanks for all of your help in this endeavor.

Player Meeting Turnout

Thursday we had our player meeting to talk about winter workouts, Camp Clark, grade releases (I need that signed by parents), and other housecleaning issues. There were 152 total students that attended the meeting. I know some were there to get out of class, but those numbers are up substantially from the meeting I had in the spring. Even if we lose 50, that would leave us with 100 which is about 35-40 more than where we finished last season. Players need to continually recruit the new faces and parents need to recruit parents. Thanks for your help in building our program!

Dead Week - A Good Week to Vacation

Our state mandated dead week this summer is August 3-7. If there was ever a week to take vacation over the summer, this would be a great time. Coaches and players are not allowed to have contact pertaining to football. If you have not already planned a vacation, this would be the best possible time. With Camp Clark being July 19-25, we may end up not working out the next week to give the kids a little extra down down. So if you wanted to leave the week of July 27th and extend the vacation into the next week, that would be another good opportunity. Enjoy the winter until fun in the sun can happen!

Meeting and Recruiting

Hello players and parents,

There is a player meeting Thursday, January 8, in the atrium during CAT time. We will be discussing off-season, spring, and summer workouts. We must continue our momentum from this season and improve our program. All players and parents are expected and encouraged to recruit the kids walking our halls that are not playing football. That one kid might be the difference maker.

Thanks for your support!

End of Season Recap

If anyone would like to have a copy of the season summary I read at the banquet, please send your son to the weight room to pick one up or drop by yourself if you like. The wonderful ladies in the print room made copies and stapled them for me. They are free for the taking.

Thanks!

Camp Clark Dates

Happy New Year! Let's make 2009 a year to remember for Neosho Football!

Camp Clark is scheduled in July this year. We will check in on Sunday the 19th and will return Friday the 24th or Saturday the 25th. It will probably cost a little more this time around because of the longer duration and the amount of food the boys at last time (we need to increase for this year). We are going to try to invite some other teams to come so we can make it more like a team camp situation. More info will follow as it comes to light.

Have a great day!

Play Station 2

Here is something to help our QB's, WR's, and RB's: If possible, purchase a Play Station 2, Madden '08, and a memory card. I am going to be making updates to the playbook over the winter and spring and would like to have everyone playing the game to learn the new plays and to keep what we did this fall fresh in the mind. Try ebay, Game Stop, or any other place that sells used game systems. I plan to buy a few more systems to check out to players who cannot acquire one. This is just one small thing that will help get us over the edge. Thanks for your support. Go Wildcats!
